THE HYDROCHLORIC ACID TEST
 
THE PURPOSE:
This test was designed to determine how effective the protective shield created by NS-5 was in protecting the epidermis from external irritants.
 
THE EXPERIMENT:
  1. NS-5 was applied to both hands and forearms paying particular attention to cuticle areas and between fingers to ensure all the skin was protected before being exposed to Hydrochloric Acid.
  2. A container of water was prepared covered with 2 layers of commercial grade aluminium foil to prove that the substance used was Hydrochloric Acid.
  3. Hydrochloric Acid was poured directly into the cupped hand and held for 30 seconds.
  4. The Hydrochloric Acid was poured onto the aluminium foil which was instantly eaten away by the acid.
 
THE OUTCOME:
The usual pain, burning, peeling, reddening and irritation that normally occurs when skin is exposed to Hydrochloric Acid was not experienced despite being exposed to Hydrochloric Acid for 30 seconds.
 
 
 
DIRECTIONS:
  • Massage a small amount into hands as often as required or after washing.
  • It is a concentrated formula so use sparingly.
 
 
KEY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
  • Urea: Humectant, hydrating, healing, commonly used to treat ichthiosis, hyperkeratotic skin disorders (skin thickening).
  • Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (Coconut derived): Petroleum free emollient
  • Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride (Coconut extract): Emollient (softens the skin)
  • Vegetable Glycerin (Coconut palm extract): Humectant, hydrating.
  • Dimethicone: Barrier of protection for skin
  • Honey: Anti-bacterial, healing, natural humectant.
  • Zinc Complex: Essential skin nutrient.
  • Emu Oil: Anti-inflammatory, penetrating, hydrating, rich source of natural vitamin E. D
  • Panthenol (Vitamin B5): Humectant, hydrates, anti-inflammatory, stimulates epithelisation (wound healing), converts to pantothenic acid (essential skin and hair element), increases flexibility and stability of nails.
  • Grape Seed Oil (Grape seed extract): Anti-oxidant, emollient, penetrating.
  • Allantoin (Comfrey root extract): Healing and soothing, anti-inflammatory, keratolytic (removes dead skin cells), stimulates new cell growth, humectant, anti-irritant.
  • Aloe Vera (Certified organic Aloe Barbadensis juice): Contains over 100 natural amino acids, vitamins, essential minerals, polysaccharides and enzymes. Anti-inflammatory, humectant, hydrates, stimulates collagen production, keratolytic (removes dead skin cells), balances pH, anti-pruritic (relieves itching), astringent (tones skin).
